The rural environment is centred in Arouca traditional kitchen and an example of that are the dishes like Vitela de Arouca Assada à Regional (Roasted Veal of Arouca), the famous grilled accompanied by the famous Arroz de Feijão (Bean Rice) or the Espetadas de Polvo com Gambas (Octopus Jabs with Skunks). In the restaurant Casa d' Avó you can taste the delicious traditional desserts and even the Arouca conventional candies such as the Barrigas de Freira (Nun Bellies) or the Castanhas Doces (Sweet Chestnuts). |
